Baku, April 14, AZERTAC Azerbaijan`s Minister of Defense, Colonel General Zakir Hasanov, and other senior officials of the Ministry attended an event dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the Main Clinical Hospital of the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry told AZERTAC.At first, flowers were laid at the monument to national leader Heydar Aliyev erected in the territory of the hospital, the memory of the great leader and shehids (martyrs) who sacrificed their lives for independence and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan was honored with observing a minute of silence.Having met with the medical staff, the Minister of Defense congratulated them on a special day and wished them success in honorable and responsible service.Colonel General Zakir Hasanov noted that the work on the army development started by national leader Heydar Aliyev has been successfully continued by the head of state today. It was stressed that the successes in all spheres, including in the field of military medicine, were achieved as a result of the reforms carried out due to the attention and care of President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.The Minister of Defense stated that the hospital's current scientific and technical base provides all opportunities for extensive scientific work and research, as well as the further improvement of medical staff professionalism.The Minister emphasized that the Supreme Commander-in-Chief highly appreciates the dedication shown by military doctors and medical staff during the Patriotic War. It was noticed that as a result of the attention and care of the state, 259 people, who lost their health during the Patriotic War, were sent for examination and treatment to foreign countries and that the vast majority of them completed treatment and returned to the Motherland. It was noted that in accordance with the requirements of the relevant decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, 17,995 certificates issued by the Central Military Medical Commission of the Ministry of Defense were entered into the electronic information subsystem until August 2, 1997. Colonel General Zakir Hasanov thanked the medical workers for their efforts during the Patriotic War in evacuating the wounded from the battlefield, providing medical assistance to 11,110 people, and ensuring their speedy recovery.The Minister of Defense delivered the tasks assigned to the Azerbaijan Army by President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Ilham Aliyev, and gave relevant instructions on the further improvement of medical service.Other speakers thanked the President and the leadership of the Ministry of Defense for the modern conditions created in the units. It was noted that the medical corps, equipped with modern medical devices and equipment, make it possible to provide a high level of service to the military personnel and their families. The medical staff promised to do their best to protect the health of the military personnel and to carry out the tasks assigned by the President and the leadership of the Ministry of Defense with dignity and high professionalism.In the end, a group of employees of the military hospital, who distinguished themselves in the service, were awarded for discipline.The event ended with a concert program presented by the staff of the Army Ideological and Cultural Center named after Hazi Aslanov.
