Concert touring company sues Australian Grand Prix Corporation over cancelled Robbie Williams performance

Baku, April 6, AZERTAC

A concert promoter is suing the Australian Grand Prix Corporation for millions of dollars over a cancelled Robbie Williams concert in 2020, according to ABC.
The British singer was due to perform at the 2020 Australian Grand Prix, but the event was cancelled on the eve of the first practice session due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
UK touring agency World Touring Melbourne is seeking more than $8 million in damages and losses from the Australian Grand Prix Corporation over the cancelled performance.
In a writ filed last week in Victoria's Supreme Court, the touring agency alleges the cancellation was a breach of the corporation's contractual obligations.
A spokesperson for the Australian Grand Prix corporation has declined to comment, as the matter is before the court.
The 2020 and 2021 Australian Grand Prix events were cancelled due to restrictions brought in to counteract the COVID-19 pandemic.
The 2022 race is scheduled for this weekend.
Race organisers have self-imposed a crowd limit of 130,000 people for the event due to labour shortages.
