State Commission on Radio Frequencies holds first meeting

The State Commission on Radio Frequencies has held its first meeting. The current situation, existing problems and important issues related to the management of radio frequency spectrum were discussed at the online meeting.
Minister of Digital Development and Transport, Chairman of the State Commission Rashad Nabiyev expressed confidence that the establishment of the commission in a new format and composition will help eliminate gaps in this area and contribute to the effective organization of work in the field of radio frequency management.
“The limitations of radio frequencies and the growing demand in our country against the background of technological development make it necessary to use the radio spectrum in a transparent, rational, fair and efficient manner,” the minister said.
Presentations were made on the agenda items of the meeting, and a number of important decisions were made as a result of the discussions.
The new composition of the State Commission, the “Schedule of allocation of frequency bands between radio services of the Republic of Azerbaijan” and “Plan for future use of radio spectrum of the Republic of Azerbaijan” were approved. Part of the received appeals were also considered and appropriate decisions were made.
The State Commission on Radio Frequencies was established by the Order of President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev dated May 4, 2021. The Regulations of the State Commission were approved by the Presidential Decree dated December 18, 2021.
