“Kinopoisk” to produce new film by Guy Ritchie

The new film by Guy Ritchie, director of “Snatch” and “Gentlemen”, will be filmed with the participation of “Kinopoisk”. The company will act as a co-producer of the film and help with investment, according to New Fox24.
The film received the working title “Translator”. In the center of the plot is Sergeant John Kinley (Jake Gyllenhaal), who serves in Afghanistan. During one of the combat operations, Kinley’s squad comes under fire, and only he and the interpreter Ahmed survive. Together they try to get to the border, risking their lives.
Kinopoisk will also act as a distributor in Russia and the CIS countries. According to Olga Filipuk, chief content officer at Yandex Mediaservices, co-financing Richie’s film is an important strategic step for the company.
Filming for The Translator will begin on January 24th. The release date of the picture at the time of publication of the material is unknown.
