Baku, September 15, AZERTAC Sixty-five hectares of the territory of Sumgayit Chemical Industry Park, which covers an area of more than 500 hectares, are vacant. There is great interest in these areas as well. I am sure that the effect of Mr. President's call on businessmen living in the country and living abroad, as well as foreign investors, will be even greater, Azerbaijan’s Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov said as he commented on President Ilham Aliyev's call to businessmen and foreign investors at the opening of the Vocational Education Center at the Sumgayit Chemical Industry Park Limited Liability Company. The minister added that the President had given instructions to expand the activities of the Sumgayit Chemical Industry Park.Mikayil Jabbarov said that businessmen operating in Azerbaijan and abroad were already responding to the President's call. Although we are still living in the quarantine period, there are already contacts and applications.In the first half of 2019, the Sumgayit Chemical Industry Park manufactured products worth 258 million manats and twice as much-534 million manats worth, in the corresponding period of 2020. Exports have increased 1.5 times compared to the first six months of last year – from 121 million manats to 182 million manats.
