FIG Rhythmic Gymnastics World Championships kicks off in Baku

The 37th FIG Rhythmic Gymnastics World Championships has today started in Baku, Azerbaijan.
The championships brings together more than 300 gymnasts from 61 countries.
On the first day of the competition, which began at 12:00, gymnasts competed in the classification stage according to an individual program with a hoop and ball.
Two Azerbaijani gymnasts Veronika Goodis and Zohra Aghamirova have already completed their performances. For a show with a hoop, Aghamirova scored 19.000 points, while Goodis received 16.950 points from the judges in this type of program.
The World Championships are a qualifying event for the Tokyo Olympic Games.
