Baku-Sharm el-Sheikh direct flight launched

Azerbaijan and Egypt have started a direct flight between Baku and a resort city of Sharm el-Sheikh.
A ceremony to mark the occasion was attended by Egypt`s ambassador to Azerbaijan Adel Ibrahim Ahmed Ibrahim, director of the Heydar Aliyev International Airport Teymur Hasanov, Kazakhstan`s SCAT Airlines vice president Vladimir Sitnik and others.
Addressing the event, the Egyptian ambassador highlighted his country`s tourism potential. He said the Egyptian government put all the necessary measures in place to ensure the country`s security and stability.
Ahmed Ibrahim said his country was ready to welcome Azerbaijani tourists who want to get acquainted with the ancient Egyptian culture.
The ambassador said the newly-launched direct flight would be instrumental in expanding tourism relations between Egypt and Azerbaijan.
The Baku-Sharm el-Sheikh flight will be operated by SCAT Airlines on Boeing 757-200 liners once a week on Thursdays.
