Japanese ITOCHU expresses interest in cooperating with SOCAR

The Japanese ITOCHU Corporation has affirmed interest in cooperating with Azerbaijan`s state oil firm, SOCAR.
Managing Executive Officer, President of Energy & Chemicals Company at ITOCHU Keita Ishii met with SOCAR president Rovnag Abdullayev. "We are interested in building cooperation in all areas and forms," said Ishii.
Abdullayev hailed the long-term cooperation between ITOCHU and SOCAR.
He also provided an insight into the investment climate in Azerbaijan and lauded the Japanese companies` engagement in Azerbaijan`s oil and gas sector.
The history of ITOCHU Corporation dates back to 1858. With approximately 110 bases in 63 countries, the company is now engaging in domestic trading, import/export, and overseas trading of various products such as textile, machinery, metals, minerals, energy, chemicals, food, general products, realty, information and communications technology, and finance, as well as business investment in Japan and overseas.
