Sofia, June 14, AZERTACThe 6th News Agencies World Congress (NAWC) has wrapped up in the Bulgarian capital of Sofia.CEO of UK’s Press Association (PA) Clive Marshall moderated the plenary session “New Sources for Income”. Speakers highlighted the importance of taking exclusive photo and videos which might be then sold out to other news agencies.At the “Fake News” plenary session moderated by Secretary-General of the Federation of Arab News Agencies (FANA) Farid Ayar, representatives of news agencies discussed the ways of preventing the spread of biased news. First Deputy Director General of the Russian news agency TASS Mikhail Gusman moderated plenary session called “Artificial Intelligence”.Yong Huang, director general of Xinhua’s regional office, made a presentation about the Chinese agency’s experience in using AI for the last six months.Clive Marshall thanked AZERTAC Chairman of the Board Aslan Aslanov for works done during his presidency of the congress in 2016-2019 X X X As part of his visit AZERTAC Chairman of the Board Aslan Aslanov held meetings with chairs of Italian Ansa, Korean Yonhap, Albanian ATA, Israel’s Tazpet, Mongolian Montsame, Indonesia’s Antara, Saudi Arabian Spa, Qatar’s QNA, and Pakistan’s PPI agencies. He also met with chairperson of Latin America News Agency and secretary general of Federation of Arab News Agencies to discuss prospects for cooperation. X X X 200 international experts, representatives of well-known media outlets, including heads of news agencies from 100 countries participated in the congress.The 1st News Agencies World Congress was held in Moscow on September 24-25, 2004 on the initiative of the Russian News Agency TASS.The 5th News Agencies World Congress was held in Baku, Azerbaijan on November 15-18, 2016 under the motto “New Challenges for News Agencies”. The Congress was co-organized by the Azerbaijan State News Agency (AZERTAC) and the Heydar Aliyev Foundation.
