IDEA launches Urban Ecology project to protect and restore urban ecosystems and fauna species

The International Dialogue for Environmental Action, IDEA, has launched an Urban Ecology project in Baku, which is aimed at protecting and restoring urban ecosystems and preserving the fauna species once widespread in the past.
As part of the project, 20 squirrels were released into a green space in the city`s Velopark area in a ceremony attended by Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, founder and head of the IDEA Public Union Leyla Aliyeva.
IDEA was launched by Leyla Aliyeva on July 12, 2011 in Baku with the aim of promoting public awareness of environmental issues and action, ensuring collaboration with youth, and addressing environmental problems.
