Azerbaijani scientist Ahad Janahmadov’s book “Philosophy of Engineering” published

Baku, March 12, AZERTAC
A book “Philosophy of Engineering”, which is the scientific and philosophical treatise on Space, Time and Meaning of Life by Ahad Janahmadov, doctor of technical sciences, professor, academician of several international academies, head of department of transport mechanics at the Azerbaijan National Aviation Academy, Vice-president of the Azerbaijan Academy of Engineering, chief editor of Science and Applied Engineering Quarterly journal (UK) has been published.
The scientific editor and author of the book’s preface is the President of the International Academy of Engineering, Laureate of State Prizes of the USSR and the Russian Federation, academician Boris Gusev. Considering that the preface is written by the academician of such great magnitude, we also offer it to readers’ attention.
“I have known academician Ahad Janahmadov for more than 15 years. Even then, he was already a famous scientist and tribologist. He was well known to scientists in their field of study. Over the years, he literally grew up in front of his eyes, becoming one of the founders of the science and engineering school, the Azerbaijani scientist with a worldwide reputation. His monographs have been translated into English and published by the famous publishing house, both in the Unites States and in the European Union. Recently, he wrote his own fundamental philosophical work, the treatise “Engineering Philosophy”. When he contacted me to become the scientific editor of this treatise, I told him that I would give my consent after reading it. By the end of reading the manuscript of the treatise, I not only agreed to be a scientific editor, but also decided to write a preface. Because this philosophical reflection is very close to me as on the personal level and on the scientific.
For the past three years, the author put on an enormous work to convey to readers the meaning of events that have become milestones in the history of the natural sciences. As he himself writes in the quatrain, while working on the treatise Engineering Philosophy,
To understand the mysteries of Space-and-Time,
Three years, I burned like a candle day and night.
For me to reach the highest peaks,
I wrote my best masterpiece.
It seems to me that it was the scientific and philosophical treatise “Engineering Philosophy” that brought the scientist his greatest popularity. He wanted to explain to the reader the world from a new position – the position of engineering philosophy, and to demonstrate his extraordinary thoughts about Space-and-Time, and the Universe. Obviously, that was not an easy task. He tried to reveal his vision of physical science and its inseparable connection with philosophy, religion, technology and mathematics. He seemed pleased to find some mistakes of scientific authorities recognized in the history, mistakes that historians usually keep silent about.
I think that the author managed to convey to readers in the popular science genre the meaning of events and determine the place of humankind in the Universe. As the author writes, “if ‘Engineering Philosophy’ did not shake you to the depths of your soul and did not awaken your consciousness, then you did not understand it”.
The new, supplemented and revised scientific and philosophical treatise “Philosophy of Engineering” is also the result of many years of scientific and philosophical reflections by academician Ahad Janahmadov – reflections in which, from the position of philosophy, the specificity of engineering thinking is interpreted as a new independent region of the “philosophical map”.
As he claims, “I create and receive energy, hence, I exist”. Such is the new model, the new ideology of academician Ahad Janahmadov.
Science has a tendency to accumulate knowledge, each newly created theory already includes theories successfully proved earlier as special cases. Science must explain why and under what conditions the conclusions of these theories are valid.
I believe that in Ahad Janahmadov’s popular science book, devoted to the relationship between science and society, one can find deep wisdom, and he skillfully and clearly delivers this wisdom to his reader. Only a true intellectual can do this!
In this regard, the philosophical conclusion reached by the scientist convincingly states that: “All of humanity receives power from the energy and conclusions of engineering philosophy”. Proceeding from this thought, the scientist in his book created the image of a modern intellectual man-thinker.
Ahad Janahmadov, an outstanding Azerbaijani scientist, popularizer of science, has received wide world recognition. He, as a scientist of amazing depth and life experience, offers the reader a new understanding of the picture of the world, pushes his reader to the disclosure of the secrets and capabilities of man.
“The human intellect, as we imagine it, is not at all the intellect that Plato explained us, it should neither observe the illusory shadows going by, nor contemplate, turning back, the dazzling light. It has another task. In my opinion, a person must act and be aware of himself while acting, come into contact with reality and even live through it, but only to the extent that it is connected with the execution of that action. This is the function of the human intellect.
As a wise guide, the author skillfully leads the reader into a new, practically little-studied world of scientific and philosophical thoughts, which occupy a fundamental place in the philosophy of engineering and contributes to the popularization of scientific knowledge.
The language of this philosophical treatise is quite simple and clear. And this makes the work attractive and interesting for a wide reader. I am sure that the treatise will expand the knowledge of the reader’s world and leave a deep impression for a long time.”
In the popular science treatise, the author examines one of the most fascinating pages in the history of mankind – the achievements of previous generations, the history of science and how modern scientific knowledge developed. The author introduces us to the fascinating paradigm – the arrow of time and entropy, as well as the theory of information.
The book leads through the fascinating path of the development of natural science in the Turkic-speaking world during the Middle Ages. The work is permeated with scientific and philosophical evidence of the existence of the Supreme Engineer and an understanding of evolution: why the Universe exists, how the past differs from the future.
This treatise is for those who are looking for answers to the most important questions: about the soul, about consciousness, about life and death, about the meaning of life on this planet, and is intended for a wide range of readers who are interested in the unique structure of our world and understanding the path traversed by Science and Cognition. The book is intended for a wide readership in order to popularize science.
It should be noted that Ahad Janahmadov is the author and co-author of more than 20 monographs, 3 scientific discoveries and about 400 scientific articles and patents published in several countries of the world.
