Baku, January 20, AZERTAC
A citizen of Japan’s northern island of Hokkaido Masazo Nonaka, who had been recognized as the world’s oldest man, died at the age of 113, TASS news agency reported.
The Japanese man passed away at his home in Ashoro.
Nonaka, who was born in 1905, had been living over the past years together with his grandchildren at the foot of Mount Oakan in the north of Hokkaido. His descendants run a small hotel at the Nonaka Onsen hot springs in this area.
However, Nonaka was placed only 30th in the ranking of the world’s oldest people.
