Iranian TV anchor arrested in US

An Iranian television anchorwoman has been arrested in the U.S., according to Iran’s English-language Press TV on Wednesday, Anadolu Agency reported.
Marzieh Hashemi was taken into custody for “unspecified offenses” at St. Louis Lambert International Airport, the television said.
The broadcaster said the anchorwoman was on a visit to her family when she was arrested and was sent to a detention facility in Washington DC.
No official charges have been pressed against the Iranian anchorwoman.
There was no official statement from U.S. authorities on the issue.
