BSU Rector elected full member of Russian Academy of Sciences

Rector of Baku State University (BSU) Abel Maharramov has been elected as a full member of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
The three-stage election results confirmed at the meeting of the Russian Academy of Sciences which was attended by 2,400 candidates. 63 internationally renowned foreign scholars who elected as members of the Russian Academy of Sciences have been named. Names of the most famous scientists from the US, England, China, Germany, Israel, Norway, as well as seven Nobel Prize winners were included in the list. Rector of BSU Abel Maharramov was among those world renowned giants of science as French Jean-Pierre Sauvage, Chinese Xuan Wei, Israeli Dan Shechtman, American Henry Kissinger, Roger Kornberg, Martinus Veltman and Kenneth Joseph Arrow.
Academician Abel Maharramov is the honorary doctor of a number of leading world universities, as well as the Professor of Moscow State University, full member of National Academy of Sciences of Georgia. He is a member of several international organizations, as well as the Science and Technology Prize winner of ECO and ISESCO.
