Asian Development Bank’s 57th Annual Meeting gets underway in Tbilisi

Tbilisi, May 2, AZERTAC

The 57th Annual Meeting of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) has today kicked off in Tbilisi, Georgia.
This is the first time Georgia is hosting an Annual Meeting of ADB’s Board of Governors.
The two-day meeting, held under the theme “Bridge to the Future”, brings together finance ministers, central bank governors, senior government officials, and representatives from the private sector, academia, media, and civil society from ADB members countries.
Azerbaijan's Minister of Finance, member of the ADB Board of Governors Samir Sharifov is also participating in the event.
The event will examine key development issues facing Asia and the Pacific including climate change, artificial intelligence, and green globalization.
The annual meeting will feature various events, including seminars and presentations.
Established in 1966, ADB is committed to achieving a prosperous, inclusive, resilient, and sustainable Asia and the Pacific, while sustaining its efforts to eradicate extreme poverty. Azerbaijan joined the ADB in 1999. The ADB’s 48th annual meeting was held in Baku in 2015.
